At least 17 special diamond stones, produced by the mining companies of Lulo, Kaixepa, Chitotolo, and Luele, were auctioned today by SODIAM, under the 14th auction overseen by the Angolan state company, with evaluation sessions held from Monday to Thursday.
The auction, attended by 17 companies from the world’s leading diamond centers, generated a net amount of 15.5 million dollars from the sale of 865.19 carats, a result that “exceeded the expected value by 23.33%,” according to SODIAM.
The current auction format, whose 14th edition concluded today, “has gained increasing trust from mining companies and buyers due to the transparency of the process,” said the Angolan company in a statement.
Eugénio Bravo da Rosa, chairman of SODIAM, noted in the statement that the results of this auction “confirmed the improvements in demand and prices observed in the market in recent weeks,” bringing “comfort to national production.”
