The fourth edition of the festival will connect major international names with the most exciting local micro-scenes, featuring around fifty performances to celebrate the present and explore the future of electronic music and club culture, as stated by the organizers.
Sónar Lisboa 2025 combines “two festivals in one”: Sónar by Day, held on Saturday and Sunday, and Sónar by Night, taking place today and on Saturday.
During Sónar by Day, performances are spread over three stages, two of which are outdoor and one indoor, while Sónar by Night offers a complete clubbing experience on a single stage.
The lineup is headlined by major figures such as The Blaze, Modeselektor, Underworld, Nina Kraviz, Richie Hawtin DEX EFX X0X, Jeff Mills, and Jennifer Cardini, along with new shows “EXHIBIT” by Anetha, “My Own Shadow” by Marcel Dettmann, and “Lattice 3D/AV” by Max Cooper.
The festival also features emerging artists including KI/KI, Héctor Oaks, Or:la, Gabber Eleganza with “The Hakke Show,” ISAbella, Clementaum, Dee Diggs, BASHKKA, Ogazón, JASSS, Valesuchi, RHR, NOIA, and Josh Caffé.
Additionally, part of the program is curated by labels and collectives such as Príncipe x TraTraTrax, Dengo Club, and Enchufada, which will bridge Lisbon’s vibrant underground with scenes worldwide, featuring artists like Lua de Santana, DJ Firmeza, Nick León, Mu540, San Farafina, Bitter Babe, Pedro da Linha, and DJ Lycox.
The Sónar+D program, the festival’s branch dedicated to creative technologies, includes three masterclasses today by digital artists Boldtron, the visual artist duo Hamill Industries, and curator Kaitlyn Davies, alongside creative technologist Brian Wong.
Sónar Lisboa kicks off the Sónar 2025 season, which will then bring the best of electronic music to Sónar Istanbul on May 9 and 10, before the 32nd edition of Sónar Barcelona on June 12, 13, and 14, featuring Portuguese musician and producer Branko among the confirmed artists.
The Sónar festival has been held since 1994 in Barcelona and arrived in Lisbon in 2022.
