The pre-festival event today offers free entry for anyone holding a ticket to the festival—whether a pass or a day ticket. Starting at 10 PM, performances include Overcrooks, followed by acts such as Daily Thompson, Nerve Agent, and Castle Rat, the latter being the headliners on the festival’s final day. The night concludes with a DJ set from The Heavy Brothers.
The festival begins in earnest on Thursday in the municipality of Viana do Castelo and will run until early Sunday morning. Attendees can look forward to performances from leading international names in the psychedelic rock scene, from heavier to lighter styles, with occasional metal or punk influences.
This year’s SonicBlast features headliners like the Belgian band Amenra, the American bands Earthless and Circle Jerks, Emma Ruth Rundle, and King Woman. Additionally, the lineup includes Magnus Pelander’s Swedish band Witchcraft, alongside other acts such as the Italian group Messa, The Atomic Bitchwax from the United States, and the Canadian band Dopethrone.
Representing Portugal will be artists such as MAQUINA., Capela Mortuária, Sunflowers, Bow, and Overcrooks.
The festival offers free camping for ticket holders and provides discounts on tickets from CP and Rede Expressos.
