About a month after representing Spain in the 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, Spanish singer Melody is set to perform in Lisbon at EuroPride, scheduled to take place in the Portuguese capital from June 14th to 22nd.
“Introducing Melody, the Spanish pop star who has captured hearts with her powerful voice and vibrant stage presence! Direct from Spain to EuroPride Lisbon, Melody promises a show full of energy, emotion, and many hits that have marked generations!” the organization announced on social media Friday.
Melody will represent Spain in Eurovision with ‘Esa Diva’, taking the stage during the contest’s final on May 17th. It should be noted that Spain automatically qualifies for the Eurovision final as part of the ‘Big Five’ group – Germany, Spain, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
Lisbon will host EuroPride from June 14th to 22nd, following a successful bid for organization presented by the associations ILGA Portugal, Variações, ex aequo network, and AMPLOS in 2022. The proposal was approved with a majority vote by members of the EPOA — European Pride Organizers Association.
EuroPride is recognized as the largest celebration event for LGBTI+ entities in Europe, taking place annually since 1992 in various European cities. It features a comprehensive program of activities, conferences, gatherings, a march, and a party.
Besides Melody, artists such as Cubita, Favela Lacroix, Tara McDonald, Kara Kills, Eva Brown, Victoria Shakespears, Sylvia Koonz, Cherry Flavor, Fontana, and Naomi Fostter are also expected to participate.
