A Brazilian woman was assaulted on Wednesday night in central Porto by a man who threw a rock at her, confirmed the Metropolitan Command of Porto of the Public Security Police (PSP), which is conducting investigations to identify the suspect.
Speaking to SIC, Gabriela Johamm explained that she was returning home, as usual, along Rua de Cedofeita, “when a man at a window on the first floor across the street shouted, ‘speak quietly, cow’.”
“I looked and we continued walking,” the woman recounts, adding that shortly afterward, she was hit by a “large rock that broke into two.”
The woman, who was accompanied by a friend, also a Brazilian citizen, required five stitches on her head and, so far, has not identified the aggressor.
“He already had the rock in his hand, so we do not understand the motivation, because it seems to me that he intended to throw it anyway,” Erica Pires, the friend accompanying Gabriela, told SIC.
The incident occurred around 10:30 PM on Wednesday, involving the presence of firefighters and PSP officers at the scene.
Authorities knocked on the apartment door from which the man threw the rock, but no one responded.
The victim filed a complaint the next day, Thursday, at the Cedofeita police station.
