“What I can wish for is that this happens as soon as possible. I have always wished for it from the very beginning, and therefore, I am calm and will await this moment”, said Luís Montenegro to journalists, during a visit to the Beneficente Portuguesa do Pará hospital in Belém, Brazil.
The Prime Minister was responding to an RTP question about how he expected the case’s resolution, following the attorney general, Amadeu Guerra’s, expression of confidence that the ruling on the preventive investigation into Luís Montenegro could be completed before Christmas.
“Naturally, my expectation is that this decision will be made with the ease of addressing all the clarifications that were requested of me”, emphasized Luís Montenegro.
In March, the attorney general, Amadeu Guerra, announced that the Public Ministry had opened a preventive investigation based on three complaints, which is still ongoing, to assess whether there are grounds to proceed with opening an inquiry.
