A 25-year-old man was arrested by the Public Security Police (PSP) on October 18 in Póvoa de Santa Iria for domestic violence under a detention warrant.
In a statement, PSP explained that the man was arrested 24 hours after “stabbing his partner, who was hospitalized in Vila Franca de Xira hospital.”
“The suspect, when presented with evidence, admitted to the crime,” and handed over to the PSP officers “the star key used for the attacks, which resulted in seven injuries to the victim’s torso, hands, and neck.”
The partner “was in serious condition, although she did not reveal to PSP that her boyfriend was the attacker.”
A house search was also conducted, resulting in the seizure of an “air gun” and “an alarm weapon.”
The detainee, who had a history of similar assaults against others, was placed in preventive detention after the initial judicial interrogation.
