A 34-year-old woman was arrested by the Public Security Police (PSP) last Saturday, November 8, in Ramada, Odivelas, on suspicion of domestic violence and for allegedly stabbing her partner.
In a statement, the PSP reported responding to an incident involving a citizen who had been stabbed in an apartment. Upon arrival, officers found the apartment door open with bloody footprints leading to one of the bedrooms. There, they discovered the victim on the floor in a pool of blood, clutching his abdomen.
While waiting for medical emergency services, the officers performed first aid, applying pressure to the victim’s wound to prevent further blood loss. During this time, the victim informed the PSP officers that “he had been stabbed by his partner during a jealous rage” and that the suspect had subsequently “left the scene.”
The victim was later transported in serious condition to a hospital. The PSP managed to “locate the suspect” and placed her under arrest, also seizing the knife used in the crime.
The statement further revealed that there was a history of violence between the couple. The detained woman has been presented to the Judicial Authority and has been remanded in custody.
