A 53-year-old woman was named as a suspect for allegedly illegally appropriating a travel bag containing 255 euros in cash, documents, and clothing on August 5 at Lisbon Airport, the Public Security Police (PSP) revealed in a statement sent this Monday.

According to the PSP, officers were monitoring an abandoned bag through surveillance cameras when a woman was caught stealing it and fleeing.

When approached by the officers, the suspect initially claimed that the bag was hers; however, they verified that this was not true.

Inside the bag, the police found various documents belonging to the rightful owner, as well as 255 euros and several pieces of clothing.

The seized items were returned to the legitimate owner, and the suspect was named as an arguida (formal suspect) with identity and residence terms.
