A 32-year-old Moroccan man was arrested on Monday on Rua de São João, Porto, after snatching a luxury Rolex watch valued at $35,000 (equivalent to approximately €30,000).
According to a statement released by the Public Security Police (PSP), they responded immediately following a radio report of a public disturbance at the location.
Upon arrival, the suspect was found restrained by the victim and other bystanders, who identified the crime he had just committed.
The Rolex watch, which the suspect had already hidden in the pocket of his shorts, was confiscated.
The suspect is banned from the Schengen Area and will be presented to the competent judicial authorities later today.
