“Between September 11 and 14, our flights to and from the airports of Praia, Boa Vista, São Vicente, Maio, and Fogo may experience changes and delays in the usual schedule. This situation arises from the announced strike by Cabo Verde Handling workers, planned for this period,” TACV stated in a release.
The airline assured that efforts would be made to minimize the impacts and ensure the best possible experience for passengers.
The union representative of CV Handling, Ailton Martins, announced on Monday that workers would initiate a new three-day strike, covering the airports of Praia, Boa Vista, and São Vicente, as well as the airfields of Fogo and Maio, from September 11 to 13.
The workers are demanding a night subsidy, risk allowance, career progression, a 7% salary increase, and the reimbursement of amounts deducted during the last strike.
The strike will proceed because the company “does not want to negotiate,” they claim.
The workers had previously carried out a four-day strike at Nelson Mandela Airport, in the city of Praia, in July.
