“We have 80% adherence in all public administration services,” stated the leader of the National Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Public Administration and Entities with Public Purposes (Fesinap).
According to Mário Rui, a new assessment will be made in the middle of the afternoon.
“Now, we only wait for 3:00 PM, which is the shift changeover in hospitals, to see where we stand regarding final adherence,” he noted.
The strike, which is taking place with minimum services, encompasses workers from all public administration careers, both general and special, and is affecting all sectors, including hospitals, schools, and private social solidarity institutions (IPSS).
Public administration workers are protesting against the labor package presented by the Government.
The immediate withdrawal of the labor reform proposal, a request for an urgent meeting with the Government regarding the “Work XXI” reform, the end of union discrimination practiced by the executive, and effective participation of Fesinap in labor negotiations are the reasons for the 24-hour strike.
