A civil protection source from the Baixo Alentejo Sub-Regional Emergency Command reported that the incident primarily damaged the roofs of houses located on the street of the cultural center and also affected power lines, in this locality of the Beja district.
In response to the event, which was recorded late in the morning, firefighters from Almodôvar, the Municipal Civil Protection Service, and E-redes were mobilized.
According to the sub-regional command, near Serpa in the Beja district, on National Road 260, strong winds caused a tree to fall on a moving heavy vehicle, resulting in a minor injury. The injured person was transported to Beja hospital.
