The Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP), following a report from the National Republican Guard (GNR), is investigating a case involving a teenager from Penalva do Castelo who altered images of schoolmates using Artificial Intelligence (AI). This was confirmed by a source within the security force.
The incident was initially reported by SIC Notícias, which stated that the young individual had used social media images to place the faces of classmates onto naked bodies, creating a substantial archive of doctored images.
The case came to light within the school after the victims discovered the manipulations. The GNR, through its School Safety program, was notified and proceeded to interview the suspect, friends who allegedly accessed the content, and the victims.
As a result, the security force referred the case to the MP, which is currently conducting an investigation.
