A sulfuric acid spill at a TAP building near Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon prompted an intervention by the Lisbon Fire Department this afternoon.
The alert was raised at around 1:00 PM, and the situation was resolved shortly after 5:00 PM without causing any injuries.
A spokesperson from the Fire Department informed Notícias ao Minuto that several firefighters were on site, supported by five vehicles.
Some TAP employees were also involved in the response efforts.
According to Correio da Manhã, approximately 200 liters of sulfuric acid leaked from a 1000-liter reservoir. Most of it fell into the containment basin, while 20 to 30 liters remained in an inclined area and had to be transferred to an appropriate container.
