The cost of purchasing the 12 products comprising the summer basket has increased by 8.09 euros compared to three years ago, as revealed by an analysis conducted by DECO Proteste this week.
The data pertains to the period between August 20 and 27 and includes 12 products typically used during the summer.
These products are pork steaks, whole chicken, sea bass, gilt-head bream, mackerel, extra virgin olive oil, Frankfurt sausages, ground roasted coffee, curly lettuce, plum tomatoes, onions, and red potatoes.
The consumer protection association’s note highlights which products have seen the most significant price hikes compared to three years ago, with some changes in the lineup.
Experts indicate that Frankfurt sausages and onions have experienced the most substantial price increases this week, similar to the situation three years ago.
However, while these two products remain in the top spots for price hikes, ground roasted coffee, which was also costly three years ago, has been replaced by curly lettuce. The analysis reveals that, among the dozen products reviewed, ground roasted coffee is now one of the more affordable items.
