The price of a food basket has once again increased in the first week of April, reaching 238.50 euros, as per the latest data released by DECO PROTeste this week.
Top Items with Price Increases
“Fish sticks, fiber cereals, and pointed cabbage are among the products that have largely contributed to this increase, with price hikes ranging from 19% to 8%,” states the consumer protection organization’s website.
Within just one week, “the price of fish sticks rose by 97 cents, reaching 6.19 euros.”
“Fiber cereals saw a price increase of 38 cents, now costing 4.60 euros. As for pointed cabbage, the price climbed by 10 cents per kilogram, reaching 1.32 euros,” the report continues.
Between March 26 and April 2, besides fish sticks, fiber cereals, and pointed cabbage, significant percentage increases in price were noted in other products like Golden apples (up 8%), pork chops (up 7%), and carrots (up 7%).
