A 65-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder that took place in September 2023, in Lisbon. The assailant had been at an unknown location until now.
At the time of the crime, the man “inflicted a deep and extensive wound on the victim’s back, causing a hemorrhagic shock that endangered his life, necessitating urgent hospitalization,” detailed the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) in a statement released to the media this Friday.
Throughout the investigation, authorities gathered “evidence of significant relevance,” which led to the “identification, location, and subsequent arrest of the suspect.”
This was because, according to the PJ, the suspect remained “at an uncertain location, continuously changing his residence, thus avoiding contact with authorities.”
The man is to be brought before a judicial hearing for the application of coercive measures.
