The Territorial Command of Bragança announced the arrest of a 65-year-old man on Monday for domestic violence.
The investigation, conducted by the Investigation and Support Center for Specific Victims (NIAVE), revealed that the man engaged in physical and psychological violence against his 65-year-old partner.
Following the execution of a search warrant at the suspect’s residence, authorities seized three firearms and 138 rounds of ammunition.
In court at the Judicial Tribunal of Bragança, the suspect was prohibited from contacting the victim, either directly or indirectly, and must remain at least 300 meters away from her, enforced through electronic bracelet monitoring.
He is also banned from acquiring, possessing, using, or carrying any type of weapon.
The GNR emphasizes that domestic violence is a public crime and reporting it is a collective responsibility.
