On Wednesday, the Polícia Judiciária arrested a 49-year-old man suspected of trying to fatally run over three men outside a nightclub in Porto, the police said today.
According to the investigating police, the events “took place near a nightclub in the early hours of last Friday”, caused by the fact that the man had been “expelled from the establishment, for disagreements, about a month ago.
“Unhappy with the situation, the suspect threatened to kill the customers who were there and went to his car. With the car already running, he accelerated towards three men who were outside the establishment, seriously injuring one of them and then fleeing,” the PJ said in the statement.
One of the victims, a 30-year-old man, remains hospitalized due to the various injuries he suffered, the press release continues.
The PJ adds that the detainee, suspected of three counts of attempted murder, will be brought before a court for first questioning and coercive measures will be applied.
