A man was arrested this weekend at Lisbon airport with enough cocaine for 25,000 individual doses, the Judicial Police (PJ) announced today.
The National Unit for Combating Drug Trafficking arrested the 20-year-old suspect “as part of an action aimed at preventing and repressing the introduction of drug products into national territory”, says the PJ.
The detainee, suspected of the crime of drug trafficking, was carrying the drug concealed in his body and was traveling on a flight from South America.
The suspect has already been brought before a judge and will await the outcome of the case in pre-trial detention, the PJ said.
