A young man, recently arrested under the suspicion of committing crimes related to child pornography, has been released under the condition that he remains identifiable and reportable to authorities. This decision came after his appearance before the judicial authorities at the Santarém Court for questioning and the imposition of preventive measures.
The authorities noted mitigating factors influencing the decision, including the suspect’s unemployment status, absence of a criminal record, and the lack of evidence suggesting he shared the illicit multimedia files. Consequently, he will await the ongoing inquiry in freedom.
Leiria’s police department announced the arrest, caught in the act, of the suspect who was allegedly involved in child pornography offenses.
The arrest followed the execution of search warrants at the suspect’s residence.
During a residential search conducted in Alferrarede, Abrantes, in Santarém district, law enforcement discovered several multimedia files containing child pornography on the suspect’s computer and mobile phone.
The young individual stands accused of engaging in criminal activities related to child pornography.
The investigation is currently overseen by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Department of Investigation and Penal Action (DIAP) in Santarém, with assistance from the Judicial Police.
