A report from the Santarém District Command of the PSP indicates that an alert was issued around 21:00 regarding a man found lying on the ground, bleeding, within a residence in Cartaxo.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers from the Cartaxo precinct found the victim receiving aid from the emergency medical team, who declared him deceased moments later.
According to PSP accounts, several witnesses stated that the incident stemmed from “a quarrel between two individuals (the suspect and the victim) over trivial matters, during which the suspect inflicted a wound on the victim using a bladed weapon.”
The PSP reported that the suspect fled the scene “and, despite several efforts,” he could not be located.
The authorities have communicated the case to the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the investigation has been transferred to the jurisdiction of the Judiciary Police.
