
Fuel prices are set to rise on Monday, making it advisable to fill up your tank this Sunday, which coincides with election day.
The Automobile Club of Portugal (ACP) reports that industry sources indicate a price increase of 3.5 cents per liter for diesel and 3 cents per liter for gasoline.
As per the Directorate General for Energy and Geology (DGEG), the average cost of diesel in Portugal on Friday, May 16, stands at 1.503 euros per liter, whereas gasoline is priced at 1.668 euros per liter.
The ACP notes, “Current prices reflect a decrease of 3.7 cents in diesel and an increase of 0.9 cents in gasoline compared to October 1, 2024.”
If the predicted changes materialize next week, the average price of simple diesel is expected to reach 1.538 euros per liter, with simple 95 gasoline potentially rising to 1.698 euros per liter.
