
Shoppers eyeing Black Friday deals might be interested to know that airline ticket prices are, on average, 24% cheaper during this period, according to Jetcost’s analysis.
The travel search engine analyzed thousands of flights and determined that domestic flights will be 29.27% cheaper, European flights 24.90%, and international flights 19.10%, based on an internal report.
Overall, all ticket prices will average 24% less expensive than usual.
“There will be significant competition among airlines during Black Friday to offer the best deals. They will not only aim to match each other’s prices but are also likely to add extras like seat selection or checked baggage at the same price. Therefore, it’s essential to use price comparison tools during Black Friday week,” experts from Jetcost advise.
They further recommend that being flexible with destinations could yield better prices than the typical tourist hotspots and warn against waiting until the last minute, as Black Friday deals are often limited.
The price comparison service conducted a study examining thousands of flights and rates to determine the average airfare prices during Black Friday week compared to the rest of the year, highlighting these four conclusions:
Domestic flights
“Domestic flights will be 15.21% cheaper during Black Friday week compared to July, the most expensive month of the year. This means a domestic flight will average 319 euros on Black Friday, while in July it costs 452 euros. It’s a great opportunity to book desired flights, as domestic flights are only cheaper in October.”European flights
“European flights will see an average discount of 24.90%, with an average price of 292 euros during Black Friday week, compared to 389 euros in June, the most expensive month. Flights to European destinations will only be cheaper in September and October.”International flights
“Finally, flights to the rest of the world will have an average discount of 19.10%, with an average price of 849 euros during Black Friday week, and 1,049 euros in June, the priciest month.
