TAP: Diploma for the Privatization Monitoring Commission Published

The order confirms the appointment of Daniel Traça, Luís Cabral, and Rui Albuquerque as members of the commission tasked with ensuring transparency, impartiality, and legal compliance in the process of selling up to 49.9% of the airline’s capital, with 5% reserved for employees.

“The transparency of this process is a priority for the Government, as well as ensuring that it is objectively and impartially overseen by a third-party entity equipped for this purpose,” the document states.

According to the decree, economist Daniel Traça, a full professor of Economics at Nova School of Business and Economics, chairs the commission.

Luís Cabral, a professor at New York University, and Rui Albuquerque, a professor at Boston College, join the group as members.

“The individuals proposed by the Government members responsible for finance and air transport have resumes that demonstrate the necessary and appropriate knowledge and professional experience required to perform these roles, particularly in economic and financial areas, with their competence in these matters widely recognized,” it adds.

The commission members will be entitled to receive allowances outlined in the Privatization Framework Law, which can be accumulated with their original roles’ compensations, according to the published order.

The order went into effect on the date of its signature, September 29.
