
In a ceremony held on Saturday in Bahrain, Portuguese airline TAP was recognized as the European Airline with the Best Website at the World Travel Tech Awards 2025.
The World Travel Awards celebrate excellence in the global tourism industry across numerous categories and regions. Winners are selected by tourism and travel professionals, including travel agents, operators, and tourism organizations from various countries, as well as the general public.
“These awards hold deep significance for us. They reflect eight decades of dedication to building strong and reliable connections between Europe and two of the world’s most vibrant, diverse, and culturally rich regions,” stated TAP’s Head of Marketing & Branding, Justina Valente.
TAP operates 80 weekly flights from Porto and Lisbon to 14 destinations in Africa, including Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, Morocco, Senegal, Gambia, and Ghana.
TAP Air Portugal conducts 91 weekly flights to Brazil, offering direct flights from Lisbon to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Natal, Maceió, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador, Florianópolis, and Manaus. It also links Porto to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Altogether, TAP connects 13 Brazilian cities (via 15 routes from Lisbon and Porto) directly to Portugal, with an addition of services to Curitiba starting in 2026.
The airline currently serves 85 destinations, operating over 1,000 flights weekly.
