The European Union (EU) announced today the suspension of retaliatory measures against the United States, in response to the customs tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump.
The decision to adopt the necessary legal measures to suspend the application of the EU’s countermeasures, which were to be adopted on Thursday, follows the conclusion of a trade agreement between the two powers at the end of July.
In recent months, the European Commission had been preparing a list of American products that would be subject to additional tariffs if there had been no progress in negotiations with Washington.
