“The STI supports the reasons invoked by the trade union centers for the strike on December 11, has no doubt that all AT workers have reasons to participate, but does not adhere to the call as our specificities, namely regarding the special inspection careers, were not considered,” reads a statement sent by the union to workers.
The STI emphasized that participation in Thursday’s general strike will depend on the workers’ decision.
On the other hand, the union decided to call a meeting of the Tax Authority workers for December 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., “understanding that the Government failed commitments, did not properly value the inspection careers, and pushed workers into unnecessary confrontation.”
According to the statement, the STI “continues to await contact from the Ministry of Finance to immediately schedule the work”, having already denounced the “absence of dialogue and a negotiation schedule.”
