A 16-year-old teenager was arrested “in flagrante delicto” on Thursday on “strong suspicion of engaging in child pornography and sexual abuse of children,” in the district of Guarda.
In a statement sent to newsrooms, the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) indicated that “the investigation began after a complaint was filed by the mother of one of the victims.”
During investigative procedures, the PJ found that “the suspect accessed and possessed child pornography content on electronic devices.”
The teenager held “about two hundred films and photographs of children and minors, with at least one produced by himself.”
The case will transition to the Family and Juvenile Court due to the “age of the detained person,” and the investigation is overseen by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Guarda.
