
A 17-year-old girl was rescued on Thursday after falling and being rendered “unable to walk on her own” at Poço Verde, near the locality of Fafião in the Peneda-Gerês National Park.
The fall resulted in injuries to one of her lower limbs, as detailed in a statement by the Associação Humanitária Bombeiros Voluntários de Salto, shared on Facebook.
After stabilization, the victim was transported to Braga Hospital.
The rescue operation involved a 4×4 ambulance with two personnel, a rescue team comprising five members, and an unmanned aircraft team with three personnel.
Additionally, the response was supported by two soldiers from the Unidade de Emergência de Proteção e Socorro (UEPS) – Posto de Montanha do Gerês.
