
The jury’s decision was made unanimously.
This marks the second time Teolinda Gersão has been awarded the Grand Prize for Novel and Fiction, previously winning in 1995 with ‘A Casa da Cabeça de Cavalo’.
The author also won the APE Grand Prize for Short Story twice, with ‘Prantos, amores e outros desvarios’ in 2017 and ‘Histórias de Ver e Andar’ in 2002.
The Grand Prize for Novel and Fiction from the Portuguese Writers Association – Directorate General for Books, Archives, and Libraries has a prize of 15,000 euros.
