The average price of gasoline fell by 0.4% and diesel by 0.7% in October.

The consumer price of regular gasoline decreased in October by 0.4%, reflecting trends in international markets, according to the ERSE bulletin released today. The largest portion of the price paid by consumers was due to taxes, accounting for 55.1% of the total gasoline bill, followed by the cost of quotation and freight (26.9%).

The regulator also highlights that the cost of 95 additive gasoline for consumers was, on average, 2.1% higher than that of regular 95 gasoline.

The price decline in regular diesel mirrored international market trends, with a decrease of 0.7%. The tax component consumed 50% of the price paid by consumers, followed by quotation and freight costs (31.6%).

In both cases, hypermarkets offered the most competitive pricing, with gasoline prices being 1.2 cents per liter lower than those of ‘low cost’ segment operators. For diesel, prices averaged 11.89 cents per liter below the national average retail price.

According to this ERSE analysis, the average retail price of Auto LPG decreased by 0.8% from October, counteracting trends observed in international markets.

Meanwhile, the average retail price for the most traded bottles (G26) of propane and butane gas remained unchanged.
