Unemployment benefit claims in the U.S. reached 191,000 for the week ending November 29, the lowest figure since September 2022, as announced by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL).
“In the week ending November 29, the seasonally adjusted number of initial unemployment benefit claims was 191,000, a decrease of 27,000 from the revised level of the previous week,” the DOL stated in a release.
This is the lowest level since September 24, 2022.
The previous week’s level was revised up from 216,000 to 218,000.
The four-week moving average was 214,750, down 9,500 from the revised average of the previous week, which increased from 223,750 to 224,250.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 1.3% for the week ending November 22.
During this period, the number of unemployed reached 1,939,000, a decrease of 4,000 from the revised level of the previous week.
