The euro rises and approaches 1.14 dollars again.

At 18:00 (Lisbon time), the euro was trading at 1.1382 dollars, up from 1.1342 dollars at the same time on Wednesday.

The euro also rose against the yen but fell compared to the pound sterling.

The European Central Bank (ECB) set the euro’s reference exchange rate at 1.1376 dollars.

During today’s session, the euro fluctuated between 1.1321 and 1.1394 dollars.

U.S. President Donald Trump today criticized the Russian bombings of Kyiv as “unnecessary” and urged his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, to halt the attacks.

“I am not pleased with the Russian attacks on Kyiv. Unnecessary and ill-timed. Vladimir, enough!” wrote the Republican leader on his social network, Truth Social.

In the same message, the U.S. President mentioned that “5,000 soldiers are dying per week.”

“Let’s close the peace deal,” he added.

Early Wednesday into Thursday, Russia attacked the Ukrainian capital with a barrage of missiles and drones that lasted for hours. At least nine people were killed, and more than 70 were injured in the deadliest attack on the city since last July.
