The countries that will compete in the Eurovision Song Contest final have now been determined, following two semifinals that took place this week. Portugal successfully advanced from the first semifinal on Tuesday, while additional qualifiers were decided in the second semifinal held on Thursday.
This year, 37 countries participated in the contest, with 26 advancing to the final scheduled for this Saturday. These include the ten selected from each semifinal, the ‘Big Five’ nations, and the host country, which claimed victory in the contest last year.
The countries that qualified in the first semifinal are Portugal, Norway, Albania, Sweden, Iceland, Netherlands, Poland, San Marino, Estonia, and Ukraine.
During the first semifinal, performances from Spain, Italy (two of the ‘Big Five’), and Switzerland, the host nation this year after Nemo’s victory with the song ‘The Code’ in 2024, were also showcased.
The second semifinal saw Israel, Lithuania, Armenia, Denmark, Austria, Luxembourg, Finland, Latvia, Malta, and Greece advance to the finals.
