The government aims to reduce bureaucracy in public schools starting September and has invited teachers and staff to submit suggestions through a form available until July 9.
The ‘Simplify and Redesign’ form is accessible on the SIGRHE platform (Interactive System for Human Resource Management in Education), as announced by the Ministry of Education on Instagram.
In a video message on the same social media platform, Education Minister Fernando Alexandre emphasized that “the government is committed to digitizing and simplifying processes within public schools starting in September,” noting the administration’s goal for teachers to be “free to teach and not burdened with paperwork that barely contributes to educational success.”
“I count on your involvement so we can make a difference in fighting bureaucracy together,” urged the minister, expecting to gather “the contributions and suggestions of teachers and non-teaching staff to simplify and digitize daily procedures within schools.”
“Simplify, reorganize, and eliminate processes that do not serve student learning or contribute to the well-being of teachers and non-teaching staff,” reiterated Fernando Alexandre.
In a letter to teachers, distributed via the Directorate-General of School Administration, the minister reiterated the challenge and thanked them for “their dedication throughout the school year, which is essential for student success.”
The new PSD/CDS government, led by Luís Montenegro, has prioritized the fight against bureaucracy.
