The office building of Grupo Impala is set for an electronic auction through the end of September, with a starting bid of 9.25 million euros, amid the editorial group’s insolvency proceedings.
The lots up for auction via Leilosoc.com include both the building and its contents, starting at 9.25 million euros with a minimum bid of 7.86 million euros.
The electronic auction is scheduled to begin on the morning of September 08 and will run until September 30.
Leilsoc notes that the building has a total area of 14,958 square meters, consisting of five floors and divided into offices, meeting rooms, gardens, and a terrace. It also includes “a parcel of land with high potential yet untouched by urban development.”
The contents consist of office furniture, computer equipment, appliances, and “various technical and administrative materials.”
Impala, which publishes magazines such as Nova Gente and Maria, had its subsidiary Descobrirpress declared insolvent by the Sintra commerce court in October 2022.
Descobrirpress, chaired by Jacques Rodrigues, owner of Grupo Impala, engages in the publication of magazines and other periodicals.
Now insolvent, it publishes titles like TV 7 Dias, Nova Gente, Maria, Ana, VIP, Segredos de Cozinha, and Mulher Moderna na Cozinha.
Founded in the 1970s, Grupo Impala had been involved in legal disputes for several years over unpaid wage claims from former employees.
