The legendary Tigerman, Fogo Fogo and Pedro Mafama will perform at the Sounds in the Sand festival, which returns to Areia Branca beach in Lourinhã on August 4 and 5, the Lisbon district municipality announced today.

The festival kicks off on the 4th with a concert by Fogo Fogo, promoting his original album “Fladu Fla”, released in 2021, and Pedro Mafama, who has released “Estava No Abismo Mas Dei Um Passo Em Frente”, following “Por este rio abaixo”, released two years ago.

On the second day, it’s the turn of The Legendary Tigerman, the artistic name of musician and composer Paulo Furtado – whose first album is “Naked Blues”, dating from 2002, and “Misfits”, “How To Become Nothing” and “Blue Breath”, some of his most recent tracks – and Ray, author of “City Cowboys”, considered one of the best national albums of 2022.

“These two days of summer sounds have already established their identity in the western region,” said Lourinhã Town Hall in a press release, and added that the fourth edition in 2022 attracted around 2,500 spectators.

With a program aimed at an eclectic audience of different musical interests, ages and locations, the festival combines music, sun and beach, with the aim of “creating a new dynamic on Areia Branca beach”.

All concerts are free of charge.
