The liquidation of Imofundos advances in 2026, assures the Government.

“We also foresee the liquidation of Imofundos (a real estate investment fund management company) next year, which has been delayed since 2022, ensuring the integration of employees into other state structures,” stated João Silva Lopes during a discussion on the state business sector on the first day of the detailed debate on the State Budget for 2026 (OE2026).

The Secretary of State for the Treasury and Finance announced that the Government will also “initiate the process of dissolving and liquidating Parvalorem, with the conclusion of internal restructuring and the disposal of assets in the portfolio,” ending a “long-standing process.”

Parvalorem was established by the State for the recovery of credits and the disposal/liquidation of assets of the former Banco Português de Negócios.

“We view the public sector as a strategic entity in managing and organizing state holdings, acting as a focal point in the process of divesting or liquidating non-strategic companies and holdings,” emphasized the official, highlighting that “one of the paradigmatic cases” pertains to the liquidation of Silopor, which has been “pending since 2001.”

The Secretary of State for the Treasury further indicated that the “solution” found by the Government “ensures the continuity of operations through the sale of the new company’s share capital, Silotagus, via an international public tender, safeguarding employment contracts and all worker rights.”

“Ensuring that the state business sector is aligned with the country’s needs and realities is a national mission,” argued João Silva Lopes.

On March 7, the Government approved in the Council of Ministers the decree initiating the privatization process of the Silopor concession.

The main port company for storing solid food bulk, managing the silos at Trafaria, in Almada, and Beato, in Lisbon, has a total capacity of 340,000 tons, allowing for the storage of an average of 3.4 million tons of cereals and flours annually.
