The “Lisbon Massacre” movie Premieres at the ANU Museum in Tel Aviv tomorrow

The Portuguese Holocaust Museum in Porto invites you to a premiere screening and discussion about the documentary “1506 – Lisbon Massacre” on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the ANU Museum in Tel Aviv (Ben Zion Hall).

The event will start at 6:30 PM (17/04/2024 tomorrow) with registration and refreshments. The screening of the documentary will begin at 7:30 PM, followed by a panel discussion at 8:00 PM featuring:

  • Alex Treiman, CEO of Jewish News Syndicate
  • Former MK Michal Cotler-Wunsh, Special Envoy for Combatting Antisemitism on behalf of the State of Israel
  • Rachel Baratz Rix, Head of the Department for Combating Antisemitism, World Zionist Organization
  • Ashley Perry (Perez), President of Reconectar, which works to reconnect Spanish and Portuguese Jewry to the global Jewish world

The event will conclude at 9:30 PM.

The ANU Museum is located at 15 Klausner Street, Ramat Aviv, Tel Aviv. Free parking is available to event participants who enter through Gate 2 and present the event code 1254426.

Lisbon Massacre

The Lisbon Massacre of 1506 was a three-day wave of violence against Jewish residents of Lisbon, Portugal. The massacre is considered one of the worst episodes of anti-Semitism in Portuguese history.

The movie / documentary  “1506 – Lisbon Massacre” explores the events leading up to the massacre, the massacre itself, and its aftermath. The trailer for the documentary has already been viewed more than half a million times.
