The Lisbon Stock Exchange reversed its opening trend today, with the PSI index losing 0.17%, contrary to the trajectory of most major European bourses.
At 08:58 (Lisbon time), the PSI was down 0.17% at 5,974.35 points.
Of the 16 listed companies included in the PSI, eight fell, six rose and Semapa and Sonae SGPS were unchanged at 13.40 euros and 0.93 euros, respectively.
Leading the declines was BCP, down 1.23% to 0.21 euros.
Corticeira Amorim (9.86 euros), REN (2.56 euros), EDP (4.65 euros), Mota-Engil (2.08 euros), EDP Renováveis (19.42 euros), Greenvolt (6.57 euros) and Altri (4.13 euros) posted losses of less than 1%.
Galp led the gains in the opposite direction, rising 1.42% to 10.70 euros.
Jerónimo Martins (24.86 euros), CTT (3.35 euros), Ibersol (7.32 euros), Navigator (3.22 euros) and NOS (3.44 euros) all gained less than 1%.
Elsewhere in Europe, Frankfurt rose by 0.59%, Paris by 0.55% and London by 0.29%, while Madrid fell by 0.10%.
In currencies, the euro was trading at $1.0799, compared with $1.0745 at 6 p.m. on Monday.
On the commodities market, the price of a barrel of Brent crude oil stood at $72.31 (around 67.2 euros), a gain of 0.65%.
