The month of April will have “above normal” precipitation and average temperature.

April is set to bring significant rainfall alongside temperatures that will be “above average,” according to an extended forecast from the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), released this Friday.

From April 7 to May 5, the IPMA predicts that both total weekly precipitation and average weekly temperature will exhibit “values above the norm” across mainland Portugal.

Regarding precipitation, during the first week, from April 7 to April 13, “higher than usual values are expected for almost the entire territory,” extending to “the entire territory” in the following week, April 14 to April 20.

Concerning average weekly temperatures, “above-normal values” are anticipated throughout the territory during the week from April 7 to April 13, and “for the coastal regions of the North and Center” from April 14 to April 20.

In the subsequent week, from April 21 to April 27, temperatures are expected to be above normal “for the entire western coastal area” and “for almost the entire territory” in the week from April 28 to May 5.
