The product that became the most expensive is used in almost every kitchen. Guess.

The price of a basket of 63 essential goods monitored by DECO PROteste costs 239.35 euros this week, an increase of 8 cents (0.03%) compared to May 28 and 3.18 euros (1.35%) more than in the first week of 2025, the organization revealed. But which products have become more expensive?

Between May 28 and June 4, the largest percentage price increases were observed in products such as onions, now priced at 1.49 euros/kg, 29 cents more than the previous week (25%), fiber cereals, now costing 4.20 euros, an increase of 0.62 euros (17%) since the last analysis, and extra virgin olive oil (12%).

It is noteworthy that the latter product increased by 0.77 euros and now costs over 7 euros (7.34 euros), after nine consecutive weeks below this value.

The top 10 products with the highest increases also include curly lettuce (10%), spaghetti (10%), frozen peas (7%), sliced flamengo cheese (7%), fish sticks (6%), and fresh hake (6%).

It should be remembered that the basket includes meat, frozen foods, fruits and vegetables, dairy products, groceries, and fish, considering, among others, products like turkey, chicken, mackerel, hake, onion, potato, carrot, banana, apple, orange, rice, spaghetti, sugar, ham, milk, cheese, butter.
