The third round of political negotiations between the two countries took place in Lisbon.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Portugal reiterated their resolve to further develop and diversify mutually beneficial collaboration during the third round of ‘bilateral political consultations’ between the two countries, which took place in Lisbon.

The Portuguese side was led by Director General for Foreign Policy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rui Vinhas, according to a spokesperson for the Portuguese Foreign Office. The agenda included discussions on a wide variety of bilateral, regional, and global issues of common interest, such as regional security, climate change, and cooperation at the multilateral fora. The Portuguese side was led by Rui Vinhas.

The two countries expressed their contentment with the current status of their bilateral relations and reached an agreement to expand their bilateral trade and investment as well as their collaboration in the fields of agriculture, water management, information and communication technology (ICT), blue economy, green technologies, and employment possibilities for the Pakistani workforce.

It was decided that the political talks would be held on a regular basis, and it was decided that the next session would take place in Islamabad. In preparation for this session, the Portuguese team would travel to Pakistan on dates that were mutually agreed upon.erson stated in the statement that was released to the press on Saturday.
