The song that will represent Portugal in the Junior Eurovision is already known.

The RTP revealed on Friday the song that will represent Portugal in the 23rd edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC) in December. “Para Onde Vai o Amor?” is performed by Inês Gonçalves, who won the talent show The Voice Kids Portugal 2025.

The song was composed by Miguel Cristovinho, Buba Espinho, João Direitinho, and Aurora Pinto and “explores feelings of love and longing that remain after losing someone.”

“With ‘Para Onde Vai o Amor?’, Portugal reaffirms its commitment to showcasing young talents who combine emotion, tradition, and contemporary creativity,” a statement sent to the newsrooms reads.

The teenager, who turns 13 this month, lives in Alentejo with her family. She began singing at the age of three and attended Cante Alentejano classes, being a member of the Ourique Children’s Choir and a cante trio.

“A true multi-instrumentalist, Inês learned to play drums, acoustic and electric guitar, violin, trumpet, piano, bass guitar, cavaquinho, and transverse flute, instruments she continues to study and perfect,” highlights RTP.

The 23rd edition of Junior Eurovision will take place on December 13 in Tbilisi, Georgia, following the country’s victory with “To My Mom” by Andria Putkaradze.

This will be the 10th time our country participates in the festival for those under 14, having debuted in 2006. Portugal was absent from the competition between 2008 and 2016.

In 2024, Victoria Nicole and the song “Esperança” achieved 2nd place with 213 points after winning the public vote. It was Portugal’s best-ever ranking.

The young Victoria Nicole secured 2nd place in the 22nd edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. In total, she garnered 213 votes and was the great winner of the public vote.
