As of a specified date, tariffs on imported furniture will be set at 25%, escalating to 50% starting January 1, 2026.
The White House released these details following President Donald Trump’s initial announcement that, beginning October 1, the United States would impose 30% tariffs on certain upholstered furniture and 50% on kitchen cabinets, bathroom furniture, and related products.
However, the official document now published online postpones the date to October 14, with 10% tariffs on softwood and lumber and 25% on furniture manufactured abroad.
From January 1, the duty will increase to 30% for upholstered furniture and up to 50% for kitchen cabinets, vanities, and other items.
