The forecast for fuel prices for the upcoming week, from September 8 to 14, presents unwelcome news for drivers of both gasoline and diesel vehicles.
According to projections released on Friday by the Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP), the price of diesel is expected to rise by two cents, while the price of gasoline is predicted to increase by 1.5 cents.
As of Friday, September 5, the average price per liter of diesel in Portugal is 1,697 euros, whereas gasoline costs 1,547 euros.
“If the forecasts for next week are confirmed, the average price of simple diesel is expected to increase to 1,717 euros per liter (€/l). Meanwhile, the average price of simple 95 gasoline will rise to 1,562 €/l,” reports the same source.
According to the ACP, “these forecasts are based on the assumption that the extraordinary tax reduction measures implemented by the government to mitigate price increases will remain in place.”
These measures include the reduction of the Fuel Tax (ISP) and the compensation for the additional VAT revenue.
