There are four young Portuguese on the Forbes ’30 Under 30′ list.

Forbes unveiled its ’30 Under 30′ list yesterday, highlighting four young Portuguese individuals among the world’s most influential figures.

This list features 30 individuals under the age of 30 across 10 distinct categories, amounting to 300 recognized talents internationally in fields such as Finance, Technology, Health, Arts, and Entertainment, among others.

Joana Barata and Guilherme Gomes are celebrated in the Finance category. Joana Barata leads the Global Markets Women’s Network at Goldman Sachs, while Guilherme Gomes, a software engineer and designer, is one of the creators of Bleap, a cryptographic card.

André Rangel appears on the list under the Technology category. According to Forbes, Rangel is praised for creating Tryp, a platform that enables cost-effective global exploration.

In the Social Impact category, Julieta Rueff is recognized. A victim of sexual harassment, she developed a personal safety device that combines a hand grenade mechanism with a 110-decibel alarm and real-time GPS location alerts. Rueff founded the company FlamAid, with her device reaching over 12 countries and safeguarding more than 600 individuals.

“My mission is to ensure everyone gets home safely,” declared Rueff during the presentation of her invention in 2024.
