The Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, delivered a speech on Monday at the ‘Land Defence Industry Day’ taking place in Vila Nova de Gaia.
“Investing in Defense is also about ensuring well-being, to allow people to continue doing what they are accustomed to doing every day, to live by deciding their own daily lives. Deciding their daily lives for themselves,” stated the Prime Minister at the beginning of his address.
Montenegro then elaborated on the current government’s efforts to enhance the Portuguese Armed Forces.
“The Portuguese government has been committed from the very first moment to rebuilding the Portuguese Armed Forces. Rebuilding through one of its greatest pillars, which I would say is the greatest pillar: human resources. There are no Armed Forces without men and women,” he emphasized.
The ‘Land Defence Industry Day’, occurring on Monday in Vila Nova de Gaia, is organized by the Portuguese Army in collaboration with idD Portugal Defence, AICEP, and IAPMEI, with support from the AED Cluster Portugal.
The event aims to deepen the relationship between the Army, which will present its programs in the terrestrial domain, domestic companies showcasing their capabilities in Terrestrial Vehicles and Unmanned Systems, and major military platform manufacturers.
